Bruising
If your loved one is staying a nursing home and you see bruises on his or her body, it is important that you ask questions. Bruising can occur when a resident slips and falls or is hit by a nursing home staff member. Bruises are pools of blood resulting from broken capillaries, and they heal very slowly—especially in people that don't have proper circulation. Any cut or bruise needs to be treated immediately, and an evaluation must take place to figure out the cause of the injury.
